Dr Gustavo Machado is NHMRC Investigator (EL2) and Robinson Fellow at the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, University of Sydney. His research focuses on improving the care of people with musculoskeletal pain in emergency health services. He leads large-scale clinical trials, observational studies, and systematic reviews in partnership with health services such as Sydney Local Health District and NSW Ambulance. His work has been published in top journals (eg BMJ, Lancet Rheumatology, JAMA Health Forum) and cited over >4800 times. He has >19.5M in grants and received prestigious awards, including 2023 Research Australia Award and 2022 ANZMUSC Trial of the Year.
